Happy New Year to you all! I hope you have had a great jump start to the new year! We've finally started having some typical Ohio winter weather, and we've been cooped up inside for what seems like an eternity. (Summer can't get here fast enough) So what do you do while being stuck inside with a 2 year old and a 5 month old who have cabin fever, you ask? Of course, make sugary, sweet, Oreo pudding.
Just wanted to wish all of my readers a very, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! Thanks for stopping by the site this year and looking at my posts! It's been a fun year, and I'll be back next year with some new, exciting, and delicious recipes. I hope you have a wonderful couple of weeks with family and loved ones in celebrating the birth of Christ and having a wonderful 2014. It's been a year of ups and downs for our family with the birth of our Graham and the passing of my grandfather.
I can't believe it's been a whole year since the last Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, and it's time to post another cookie recipe. It is such a fun thing to be able to participate in and exchange and receive delicious cookies, while meeting other food bloggers out there! Last year, I sent out a family favorite orange drop cookie, and this year I sent out another family favorite, Danish pastry. They're so delicious.
Time for a cookie recipe. These are one of our absolute favorites this time of year! My mother-in-law introduced me to these about nine years ago when Scotty and I first started dating, and I've been a huge fan ever since. They're so easy to make and especially delish with a cup of coffee in the morning. If you're looking for a cookie to add to your Christmas cookie list this year, let this be one of them. I hope you're having a great Monday.
Hello friends! Happy Sunday to you. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the days leading up to Christmas. I'm almost done shopping which I am so thankful for. Now, comes the worst part of Christmas....wrapping! You have no idea how much I loathe wrapping gifts. In the past couple of years, I have actually switched to mostly decorative gift boxes and gift bags, which require very little wrapping on my part. You don't understand how bad I am. It's those darn edges that just do not crease nicely for me. Ahhhh anyhow, that's what I am getting ready to do as soon as I post this.
Hey friends. I hope you've had a great week. We've had a rough week and a half with the passing of my grandfather last week :/ He has been sick for the past two years, and deep down, I think we all knew he wasn't getting any better, but nothing prepares you for the passing of a loved one, and as much as you can say you try to prepare for it, you're never really ready to say goodbye. I know where he is. I know he is in heaven with our Lord and Savior, that I have peace about.
Tis' pumpkin season, friends! Hearing that is music to my ears. I am a huge pumpkin fan for sure. I love pumpkin rolls, cookies, muffins, cakes etc. etc. etc. The list could go on and on. I found this recipe on a blog I follow and knew immediately these would be a hit in our family. You know from past posts, my little guy is a fan of muffins for breakfast, so I knew this would be a hit for him when I saw chocolate in the recipe. He definitely devours them, and they'll be added in to our rotation of muffins to make for the season. Hope you all are having a great Monday!
I don't know if you follow Joy the Baker's blog, but if you don't you definitely should. Her blog rocks. She is funny, witty, and has killer recipes. Recently, she partnered with King Arthur Flour for a baking bootcamp series. There are four different challenges/recipes to make and you tag your pictures of the recipe on Instagram, then you're entered in a drawing to win one of four prizes. It's pretty cool, especially if you love to bake.
As I've mentioned before, I am always looking for "kid-friendly" meals and snacks for Liam. It is really getting harder and more difficult to purchase boxed snacks and cookies at the store after looking on the back of the box at the ingredient list. It's really scary to think about what is going into my childs body when you can't pronounce half of the ingredients.
Wow. Can you believe it? I've finally posted an actual recipe. Ha! I feel somewhat normal again, and I'm finally getting into a good routine with the kids, cleaning, and cooking. It's amazing how adding another little human being to the mix can totally rock your world, huh? May God Bless (I'm being totally serious) people who have multiple children at a time. I don't know how you do it without help or a nanny. Anywhooooo, it's officially fall, and it has felt wonderful here in NE Ohio. I love FALL. My absolute favorite time of the year, by far is right now.
