I know what you're thinking...Scones??? You mean the dry, crumbly things you can't even swallow unless you wash it down with coffee? Yes, those scones are what I'm talking about. This is the best recipe I've ever had and had success with making. They're easy to put make and require little effort. I know I've talked about in the past certain recipes making me feel accomplished in the kitchen, and this is one that makes me feel that way. Little things like this give me such pleasure these days. Looks like I need to get out more. Ha!
Happy March 3rd to ya! We are so close to spring, I can feel it! Hope you had a nice weekend. We had a a pretty low key one since the husband caught the cold bug :/ We just layed low, shoveled MORE snow, and made soup this weekend. We got more snow (surprise, surprise!) on Saturday into Sunday, so we weren't able to do much besides go to church and come back home and take naps in the afternoon. I'll take those kind of weekends where there isn't much going on and we can just hang out as a family.
Happy Friday, friends! It is so cold here in NE Ohio. You know it's cold outside when your dog would rather hold his bodily fluids in than go outside and sniff around and excrete them. I know TMI, but I am trying to get you to understand how freaking cold it is here. We have a serious case of cabin fever. It's getting to all of us. Spring/Summer cannot get here soon enough. In the mean time, soup will have to suffice. This.soup.is.so.good. It might be one of our new favorites, and it definitely will be on the rotation again before dreaded winter is over.
I've been MIA lately, and I apologize. I have been so busy with the kids, and it is so hard to break away during the day and blog. Usually, I am cooking dinner during nap times and catching up on laundry/cleaning, which leaves little to no time to photograph and write posts. However, I miss blogging. It is so easy to just wrap your life around the kids and household duties that you forget to do things you enjoy for yourself. So this week, I am making sure to carve out some time to write and photograph some new posts!
Happy New Year to you all! I hope you have had a great jump start to the new year! We've finally started having some typical Ohio winter weather, and we've been cooped up inside for what seems like an eternity. (Summer can't get here fast enough) So what do you do while being stuck inside with a 2 year old and a 5 month old who have cabin fever, you ask? Of course, make sugary, sweet, Oreo pudding.
Just wanted to wish all of my readers a very, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! Thanks for stopping by the site this year and looking at my posts! It's been a fun year, and I'll be back next year with some new, exciting, and delicious recipes. I hope you have a wonderful couple of weeks with family and loved ones in celebrating the birth of Christ and having a wonderful 2014. It's been a year of ups and downs for our family with the birth of our Graham and the passing of my grandfather.
I can't believe it's been a whole year since the last Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, and it's time to post another cookie recipe. It is such a fun thing to be able to participate in and exchange and receive delicious cookies, while meeting other food bloggers out there! Last year, I sent out a family favorite orange drop cookie, and this year I sent out another family favorite, Danish pastry. They're so delicious.
Time for a cookie recipe. These are one of our absolute favorites this time of year! My mother-in-law introduced me to these about nine years ago when Scotty and I first started dating, and I've been a huge fan ever since. They're so easy to make and especially delish with a cup of coffee in the morning. If you're looking for a cookie to add to your Christmas cookie list this year, let this be one of them. I hope you're having a great Monday.
Hello friends! Happy Sunday to you. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the days leading up to Christmas. I'm almost done shopping which I am so thankful for. Now, comes the worst part of Christmas....wrapping! You have no idea how much I loathe wrapping gifts. In the past couple of years, I have actually switched to mostly decorative gift boxes and gift bags, which require very little wrapping on my part. You don't understand how bad I am. It's those darn edges that just do not crease nicely for me. Ahhhh anyhow, that's what I am getting ready to do as soon as I post this.
Hey friends. I hope you've had a great week. We've had a rough week and a half with the passing of my grandfather last week :/ He has been sick for the past two years, and deep down, I think we all knew he wasn't getting any better, but nothing prepares you for the passing of a loved one, and as much as you can say you try to prepare for it, you're never really ready to say goodbye. I know where he is. I know he is in heaven with our Lord and Savior, that I have peace about.
